The Firestone FR680 is a low-cost all-season passenger radial that came as original equipment on the Oldsmobile Silhouette and Pontiac Trans Port. The tire is built mostly for a quiet ride, and uses a WAV noise treatment to keep sounds from the road to a minimum. The tread design is built to offer traction in wet and snowy conditions. This is enhanced by straight grooves that run the circumference of the tire and slotted shoulders, which help to move water out from under the tire and reduce hydroplaning. The tread is fortified by Duradene, which increases durability and prolongs the life of the tire.
